Intro to Neon

Service Description

July 22nd - July 25th. (4-Day Class, 6 hours days) Learn how to create your own neon sculpture from start to finish in this four day-session intensive workshop. The class will be presented as a series of tutorials focused on designing, glass bending, wiring, and installation, along with a demonstration of how a glass tube is processed and filled with gas to produce light.  What to Expect: At the end of the workshop each student will go home with their own neon piece. Eligibility: This workshop is designed for beginners and returning students who need a review and/or guided work session. Open to ages 18 and up. Pick-up: Should processing take additional time, students will have to return to Var Gallery once notified to pick up their work. Learn how to create your own neon sign or sculpture from start to finish in this two-session intensive workshop. The class will be presented as a series of tutorials focused on designing, glass bending, wiring, and installation, along with a demonstration of how a glass tube is processed and filled with gas to produce light.  What to Expect: At the end of the workshop each student will go home with their own neon piece. Each student will make a basic shape, simple design (provided) and learn all techniques to be able to continue on your own. Eligibility: This workshop is designed for beginners and returning students who need a review and/or guided work session. Open to ages 18 and up. Pick-up: Should processing take additional time, students will have to return to Var Gallery once notified to pick up their work.
