Var Gallery Presents: Robbie Sender & Jason Burns (Kid Elephant)

“Americana” is a big tent that covers many types of music: elements of country, bluegrass, folk, blues, roots rock, etc. In an evening with Robbie Sender  and Jason Burns (Kid Elephant) you’ll cover a lot of ground under the Americana tent.  Robbie blends elements of country, folk, and roots music with punchy and poetic storytelling, drawing on influences like Townes Van Zandt, Luke Bell, and Conor Oberst. You’re certainly going to hear a few country(ish) tunes in Jason Burns set, but you’re also going to hear a while lot of blues, rock, and soul influences as well.  Robbie and Jason met on the Milwaukee music scene last year and have been looking for chances to play together ever since.  Var Gallery is the perfect spot to strip things down and share the core essence of these songwriters, what  they share and what’s unique to each of them.
