Service Description

Doodle Bright (Two day neon line quality class) Instructor James Akers An all levels class for people who like to doodle that focuses on different qualities of neon light. From tubes large and small, dim and bright, we will be going over different ways to change the light from these luminous drawings as well as ways to mimic marker doodles on paper with neon doodles on a wall or in the air. Monday 24th - Tuesday 25th, August 2 Day Session 10:00am-5:00pm What to Expect:
This class includes the bombardment and electrode attachment for one neon unit, as well as a transformer and wiring kit. If you wish to create additional units, there will be extra charges for electrode attachment and pumping. Neon work involves standing activities like bending and assembling neon tubes over a torch flame, so a certain level of dexterity is required when working with glass materials. Eligibility:
No prior experience is necessary. Open to ages 18 and up. Pick-Up:
Neon tubes will be bombarded during the class, so you should leave with your finished neon unit. If processing takes longer, you will be notified when your work is ready to be picked up at Var Gallery. This is an in-person class held at Var Gallery & Studios. Register Early:
We recommend signing up as early as possible to guarantee your spot. Early registration helps us plan for materials and instructors based on student enrollment. It also ensures the class will run. Classes with low enrollment may be canceled within two weeks of the start date. For questions or to set up a payment plan, feel free to contact us at info@vargallery.com. Preparing for Class
We recommend students bring a notebook and a water bottle to in-person classes. All essential materials and supplies for the class will be provided. If you wish to use specific tools or materials not supplied, you’ll need to bring them yourself. Studio Attire
For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in the Neon Studio. We’ll provide the appropriate eyewear for you. Please wear suitable work attire—flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals, and open-toed shoes are not allowed. Long hair must be tied back for safety.
