Jason  Burns is a songwriter, singer, and guitarist from Milwaukee.   Whether  playing solo acoustic shows or turning things up with his band, Kid  Elephant, Burns’ performances are full of honesty, energy, and heart.  His songs live in the spaces within Americana where roots rock, folk,  blues, and country overlap with a common thread of rhythm and soul woven  throughout.  Burns’ catalogue is a salty and sweet mixture of  emotionally raw material skillfully blended into tunes with strong hooks  and infectious grooves.  Intentionally sparse, no frills arrangements  set the stage for his emotionally powerful songwriting and performances.   Drawing on a broad range of influences from Tom Petty to Tom Waits and  Johnny Cash to John Lee Hooker, he serves up original music that is at  once classic and contemporary, unmistakably American, yet somehow  genreless.
