Tony Catania is an improvising tenor saxophonist and a very active member of the Milwaukee creative and improvisational music scene, having performed with The Devin Drobka Trio, Bell Dance Songs, Formation series, Seed Sounds, Argopelter, Field Report and Mke Unrehearsed. Tony formed his own trio last year with Barry Paul Clark on upright bass and Devin Drobka on drums. The Tony Catania Trio focuses on original compositions and complete dedication to improvising as a cohesive, organic unit. With this mantra the Trio just released their first album entitled “Sitting and Staring” featuring six original compositions, two unique covers from Chris Speed and Carla Bley and inspired improvising from all three members.
