For this series I used simple forms, bright color, and pattern to revisit the myths we use to form our collective morality, and create my own visual language for the recurring motifs within these stories. Each painting shifts the focus within these narratives, focusing on women whose stories are shaped by metamorphosis and punishment I’m drawn to how these myths rely on women’s suffering to teach lessons and instill righteousness , and how that framework continues to influence the way we value women’s work today.
