I aimed to merge my love for Moroccan tiling with my fascination for insects. Inspired by my time in Morocco, I am captivated by the vibrant colors and intricate decorations on every corner. Walking around with my family, I found myself constantly capturing photos of the ornate patterns gracing sidewalks, door frames, and windows. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns have left a lasting mark on me. Initially ambitious, I aspired to incorporate 3D elements into my pieces. However, the reality of creating a new artwork every day proved more challenging than anticipated, especially while away from home without access to my usual supplies. I quickly adjusted to using unfamiliar supplies and exploring new concepts. Despite the challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed the creative process and discovered new avenues for artistic expression. This project has fueled my desire to push boundaries and explore innovative approaches in my practice.
