For this year’s show, I was looking to explore concepts of growth, decay, and continuation. The series I came up with, titled  “Goodbye Forever; I’ll See You Soon,” stems from a fascination I have with liminal spaces, trying to create works depicting the transitional blur between one thing becoming another. This comes through both in the subject matter of natural cycles in the imagery as well the medium itself in which the differently leveled planes drift and change with the viewer’s perspective. As the title suggests, the series is meant to evoke feelings of both loss and comfort, showing a delicate balance of connection and distance, all built on the premise this all things may be fleeting but are never really gone.
