About the Event

TRIANGULATION is an odyssey of a man and a woman and a mystery figure – the moving vector in space, the third point that the couple is trying to lock down. This complex exploration of gender is a journey from the bedroom through social space to the world.

We will be screening a video documentation by Jake Fuller of the 2001 performance with Debra Loewen, Wild Space Dance Company, Jon Erickson and Jill Sebastian of the 2001 production.

Man: Jon Erickson, Woman: Debra Loewen, Mystery Figure: Jill Sebastian, Chorus: Wild Space Dance Company, Music: Paul Gaudynski, Photography: Jim Brozek, Video: Jake Fuller, Production Support: Technical Director: Anthony Lyon,  Stage Manager: Jan Kellogg, Lighting Designer: Noelle Stollmack, Tech and set assitance: Joan Bontempo, Kathyrn Clark, Dan Coleman, Ben Dembrowski, Thomas Everts, Jean Holthaus, and Stacey van de Loo.

This work ...  was intellectually stimulating and just plain weird fun, resulting in a collage of images whose form was rather abstract. In its second version, it has re-emerged with more narrative fullness, transforming roughly sketched figures into developed characters even as they maintain allegorical status. The addition of Wild Space Dance Company as chorus has added a great deal of resonance to the social/psychological aspects of the piece..."  – Jon Erickson

"Every culture is a moral geometry, a contingent means of triangulating one's course through reality."  – Weston La Barre
