Carb Count: Food is what fuels life, brings us together and gives connection, helps us learn about other cultures and people. It is a comfort during hard times and can also be an addiction. Each of us has a unique relationship with food, things we like, things we will not eat, and our go to lunch. And some of us have to pause and think a little more everytime we raise a fork to our lips because our pancresses are not working.

I have created these 30 panels to bring attention to the textures, details and forms of everyday food items as I elevate and transform them into something special and shrine-like. I have created these 30 panels to also raise awareness about diabetes. If you, as I do, have a loved one living with diabetes or have diabetes yourself, you probably did not need that explanation because you live this Carb Count. If you are just getting in the know, the text on the panels is the serving size and the carbs per serving, two very important numbers in the lives of people who are diabetic.
