In this recent body of work, I will explore the ever expanding possibilities of invention that are generated by the confines of my chosen materials and subject matter. These paintings reflect my interest in the immensity within the intimate breaks of life. This 30 day experience has been a process for me to ground myself in the present moment for an extended period of time. I often revisit still lifes and familiar scenes found throughout my day to accumulate a rich response that shows my developing relationship with a specific environment. My aim is to bring my subjects to life through an investigatory gaze to create an occasion where ordinary subjects that are passed by in daily life are endowed with value. By turning my attention to the apparently ordinary, I set my task to reveal that it is anything but ordinary.
